challenge: find single example in history of fiat currency NOT returning to zero value

answer: NONE

an alarming historical record..... NO PRECEDENT !!!
we in USA assume the dollar will remain in paramount position
I wont pursue this further
but the above challenge remains
find one example in 5000 years of history
this attitude directly addresses American Arrogance

I am not saying the US$ will go to zero
I believe it far more likely it will be RETIRED
then REPLACED with some gold-backed dollar by 2010
e.g. 1 oz GOLD = $2000 = 20 oz SILVER

if it is a ridiculous statement, then surely you can find a counter-example
ever heard of the Mississippi Project during 18thC France?

seriously and respectfully, Greg, I question your knowledge of the history of money
The Jackass has studied long & hard for 16 months in a variety of financial areas

by the way, in 1995-96 I was a nearby player in the Yen Carry Trade
I made a ton of money shorting the Yen for five quarters
