Chinmoy,

While your description of Pakistan may be OK in some respects, your characterization of India is flawed. India is a democracy only in name -- oftentimes, people vote and then nothing happens. The guarantee of secularism and the freedom to follow any religious faith are largely in the rear-view mirror now -- present-day India is far different from those so-called guarantees; it is no longer the India of Gandhi, not even the India of Nehru. And the last time I checked, India had a lower per-capita income than even Pakistan! The UN Human Development Index puts both countries somewhere near the bottom, with only a few countries of sub-Saharan Africa below them.

So your talk of a "choice" between the two countries is largely meaningless. Fortunately, I don't have to make a choice one way or the other.
