Ahhh, a Perotista...That's great you were fortunate to meet Milton Freidman. I have a lot of respect for him. His ideas truly have shaped the world in ways no one could have thought possible.

I also agree with the Greenspan comments. It must be an extremely difficult job to always get it right balancing so many different economic variables. And Greenspan has been right far more often then wrong.

He underestimated how far U.S. businesses moved toward what Michael Porter termed the "Production Frontier Curve" and because of that, was too quick to jack up interest rates in order to stamp out what he predicted was rising inflation. Rising productivity being the key component which dampened inflation concerns.
