If Chairman Arafat resigns because Prime Minister Sharon hates him so much, would he become a political martyr? Is there such a thing? His popularity in the Arab world is very high, and many might view it as a promotion to the position of an International Statesman who sacrificed power for his people. I doubt that Israel really wants Chairman Arafat to go though, because they are holding the people who have the strength, credibility and consistency to unite Palestine. IC
