A rat has to have a certain level of bacteria in his organs or the growth of the organs will accelerate to the point that it will kill the rat. So literally, antibiotics will kill rats. A healthy rat paradoxically must be a bug filled rat. But he is not diseased in and of himself, but may carry that to humans. (Rats, Lice, and History - Seyle) Botulism that would kill a human, a rat will thrive on. Ditto the eagle, vulture, seagull, and wolf.

Boil well.
