Euro Zone May Services PMI -3: Slow Growth Due To Germany

The euro zone services PMI is based on data from Germany, France, Italy,
Spain, and Ireland, which account for about 83% of the euro zone's services
activity.

NTC Research, which compiles the data, said the pace of growth seen in May
was the weakest since February. "The slower rate of expansion was driven
primarily by a setback of growth in Germany," it said. German PMI fell to 49.1
from 52.0 in April.

Prices charged and input prices continued to rise in May, but growth slowed,
NTC Research said, noting that prices charged expanded at the slowest pace
since January.

Employment continued to expand too, but the rate of growth weakened for the
second month in a row, it said.

May April
PMI 52.1 53.3
Employment 50.5 51.1
Prices Charged 50.9 53.3
New Business 52.0 53.7
Input Prices 57.6 58.9
Outstanding Business 48.1 49.2
Business Expectations 70.4 69.6
