You don't want to do that except when you expect armaggedon, since you'll introduce errors in everything on that side of the planet for some period.


Limiting the topic to those systems that use GPS. That's not an insurrmountable problem. You have two GPS modes, one for commericial use and the other one [using encryption] for military use. You can turn off the commercial mode; do a key change [for the bird and US forces only] and deny service to everyone else. Very easily done and supportable by the current system.
