I hope you're wearing fire retardant underwear. <g> On a more serious note, if you have a large yard near fire prone country then it would be prudent to consider growing plants that are more resistant to burning. I think ground covering like ice plants work quite well. But in your particular circumstance, it was a rather freak accident.
