i did the basel thang. awful swiss, but great supermarche 5 minutes across the border. we smuggled the good stuff back. otoh, the trams run so on time, i watched one knock a 90 year old dame to the ground when she didn't make it across. no kidding. otoh, friends could dial my bank account number and reach me at home. that was pretty cool. and all of it remained a secret. otoh, cool looking chics get really ugly once they open up speaking swiss german. otoh, there's always the french and italien cantons and the remote but official remanents of hadrian's walk through the alps. otoh, the grass is always greener on the other side unless you can find a way to plant it yourself.
