Annette, It's an American horse and the most prominent American trainer. Everyone loved the Prince when he was throwing money into our stock market to prop up the phony bull market. I wish him no evil, but he's not running. A gutsy American horse is trying for the Triple Crown. Ridden by one of the top jockeys at Santa Anita, which is in America. Trained by Bob Baffert, who is so American that he started as a Quarter Horse trainer. (Ditto for D. Wayne Lukas)

BTW, with our huge balance of payment problems, don't we want rich foreigners to come to this country to buy our exports, one of which is well bred horses?

I have nothing against the Japanese and, in fact, like them very much. But War Emblem is American and I prefer that he win the crown rather than Fusaichi Pegasus, who had a shot in 2000.

Besides horses and oil, Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of one of the world's largest religions.

If the horse goes to Saudi Arabia, big deal. The genes that made the horse are in Kentucky.
