I disagree.

Banks are entitied to lend money to legally established governments acting under the laws then in effect in their countries and expect repayment.

Naturally, the banks had their own agendas -- they wanted to make money. They are not charities.

The citizens of these countries are not children. They are responsible adults, and must accept responsibilities for the policies of their countries. Of course many of them don't agree with those policies, or those governments -- a large number of people in this country don't agree with some of our policies or leaders. But that doesn't entitle our country to renege on its legal debts.
