Tante is "Aunt" is Cajun. I had many of them but the oldest and most feared was just called just Tante. The rest would be refered to as Tante Marie, Tante Jeanette, like that.

My Grandmother was Irish, she was just called Grandmother, not Nana, Granny or Granma.....Grandmother......emphysis on the Grand!
