Not a bad idea, since drowning is a *major* danger with small children.

You make 'em wear the floaties and dump them in the deep end from an early age and then you never have to worry.

OTOH my sister once fainted dead away when my five year old nephew decided to walk on the bottom of the deep end during a July 4th cook out. Thankfully someone else was there to pull the kid out. He laughed and laughed after he was pulled out. I'm amazed she lived through his childhood.
