All the retailers here have been dominated by HP and Compaq, with some carrying eMachines, most carrying Sony, and most usually having a few Toshiba laptop models as well. HP and Compaq dominated their advertising. This was true for Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Office Depot, OfficeMax and Staples months before the merger and continues. Actually, HP's position with retailers was part of the reason I thought buying CPQ was a bad idea. Doing so would likely cause the retailers to look for another line to carry. 2+2=3, at least in PCs.
