What population bubble? For the last twenty years demographers have been revising population projections down.

That's why housing stocks are hot.

Actually based on demographics alone, housing prices should have collapsed in the USA over the last decade, as the baby boomers settled in. The only reason there is a housing boom is because those baby boomers are moving into monster houses that are twice the historical average, and quite often much larger than they can ever use. Viz. I saw a ten-room-house subdivsion outside Seattle for retired empty nesters, if you can make any sense out of that!

Today in a down market Amazon moved decisively up. Who knows, maybe it is a takeover target and somebody is accumulating the stock...
