Michael, A)there was no fuss, unless you feel that a "fuss" was made over the fact that LE announced they will hit their consensus. Considering that most people were waiting for a warning, that merits a "fuss".
B)there was more to what he said than "we won't preannounce to the downside", since he said ORCL would AT LEAST get to .12.

Finally, if you want to get technical, just hitting any kind of consensus in the current environment merits a "fuss", regardless of whether it is a revised consensus or not.
The issue, from where I sit, isn't that it was good or bad, but more that we remain mired in an environment where pessimism rules. As the saying goes, in a bull market there's no bad news, in a bear market, there is no good news.
While that goes a long way to explaining sentiment, it also goes a long way to pointing out how traders (as opposed to investors) are essentially deaf.

We'll find out in 2 weeks what the long term outlook is. I think most people were expecting things to be ridiculously bad. The fact that they aren't means something. Just what that something is, remains to be seen.
