Win 2k "Professional" is crap in many respects.

If you think 2000 is crap you're in for a rude awakening with XP. I'll have to be dragged kicking and screaming into that one. Still using NT4 and Win98.....but I'm thinking a lot about Linux lately. I like to think my investments in technology have completely repaid me over time....but I don't think one can ever recapture the time lost trying to make MSFT products work.

In agreement with you on AMD boxes. I sold my INTC stock that I'd owned for a decade when I realized that I was advising people not to pay up for INTC boxes. Shortly thereafter I realized that the Athlon boxes were going for more on the auction sites. Auctions are the purest form of demand measurement.
