What is way better about "XP home alone" than 2000pro. I would appreciate enlightenment, on anything you may be aware of that I am not, regarding both operating systems.

My rule is I don't buy anything from MSFT until they come out with the 3rd service pack. Life is too short. -gggg-

I have a couple NT4 machines that haven't crashed in three years and I push them to the brink doing graphics work. Can't say the same for the Win98 machine, but after helping a few people install all their existing software on XP I can tell you I was underwhelmed. Never again will I put myself through another OS upgrade that puts me into the never never land of beta testing device drivers for peripherals that no one wants to claim ownership for or upgrading all my existing software just so I can use the latest dumbed down piece of bloatware from Redmond.

How's that for a completely biased rant! -g-
