SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Shares in Intel Corp. fell on Thursday as the chip giant is projected to narrow its revenue guidance to the low end of the range it announced one month ago, according to a report from Rueters here today.

Intel said in mid-April that it expects revenues to be in the range of $6.4-to-$7 billion, but several analysts expect the Santa Clara, California-based company to indicate its quarter will come in at the low end of that range due to weak PC demand.

In the previous quarter, Intel reported a profit of $936 million on sales of $6.8 billion. Intel has scheduled mid-quarter conference today to discuss the company's business outlook.
