I thought all the speed grade increases were part of the "Intel Breakaway" strategy to gain back market share from the competition.

Unfortunately, I think getting back market share from AMD is the least of their problems. The real problem is getting the market to grow again. If it doesn't come back strong than neither INTC nor AMD can come close to justifying their multiples.

And right now just about everybody is saying "we don't know" about a recovery anytime soon. And the reaction to faster processor speeds in the corporate market is a huge collective yawn.
