845GL does not provide AGP slot, making it only suitable for bargain basement machines.

Just read the video specs. 845GL will drive dual monitor displays. Extreme graphics controller, same one on 845G, runs at 200 MHz. AGP 4X transfer rate is only 133 MHZ. It can utilize 64 MB of memory and has 256 bit internal data path. Better capabilities then what most people that have posted on this thread today use.
A $ 90 motherboard with built-in video isn't going to come with video subsystem worth $ 90. However, a video subsystem worth about $25 if it was attached via AGP is fine with most people if it reduced cost of complete system by $30-40 retail. Intel wants to be more like AMD in this regard.

You must have missed my two main points. Business computers have been reduced by two factors: lower cost by removal of AGP slot without sacrificing business graphics performance and Intel has shaved their own profit margins by at least 10% maybe closer to 20%. Since I have been aware of this lowered pricing for 845GL solutions for about two weeks it was not surprising that Osha at Merrill figured out Intel was settling for lower margins as well.
