Changing frequency back and forth should not be a problem, as a matter of fact GSM uses frequency hopping to improve frequency diversity.

So theoretically, the MS could transmit on one freq during one time slot, and receive on 7 different freqs during the other 7 slots of an 8-slot frame?? I'm assuming 6 of those receive freqs are for channel quality measurements.

Do carrier, data, & frame sync really occur that quickly?? Doesn't the MS need to receive an entire "frame", for frame sync, before it knows where time slot 0 is??

Ron

P.S. That should be my last questions to you for a while. Thanks again.
