#2 rule on max pain rally.
No sooner than 10 days before should one attemt to play it

that matches up very nicely with Zeev's thoughts on when we "bottom".

Mish, You are right; I was way too early on the max pain play. We are now going to be 14 days away from it..while at the same time we are heading to September lows.

Don't know what could get us there.

I am thinking whether to hold out for it or not; already reduced positions and might sell a bit more.

Did Cisco really have a great earnings report to be a catalyst last month? I don't think so. The only bullish thing I remember is that they were going to be aggressive in their share repurchases at the lower prices. I still believe it was mostly max pain related. It looks equally unlikely now but there is still plenty of time.
The odds of hitting max pain look even lower than they did last month.

EDIT: On second thought..forget it. I am taking a vacation. Good luck playing max pain if you are interested. I am probably going to avoid playing it....after I go flat by tomorrow.

In all fairness, your "humility" comment should be IMRO. (g).
