The city of Los Angeles is under threat of secession by both the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood. Both want to secede because of lack of representation and both are on the ballot. It should be interesting.

Even my city of Huntington Beach will have a ballot proposition to establish 5 districts to represent a new council of 5, rather than the old at-large group of 7. Same issues of lack of representation. All the present council members live in the northern area of town which includes, incidentally the wealthier areas.

Re: King County determining the outcome.

I understand.

My objection was to your declaration that "My state and town overwhelmingly vote Democratic."

Your town might but I would hardly consider Washington State to be "overwhelmingly Democratic" if Gorton outpolled Cantwell in 32 of the 35 counties just 19 months ago.
