Derek, Not so much in Central America, but quite a bit of mixing in South America, and the Caribbean Islands. It seems that the Indians, since they were considered colored to the white man, saw no problem in mating with the black people. It is not well known, but William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark expedition, took a black slave, who was also a friend from childhood, named York along on the expedition. York was quite well muscled, and had a very dark black skin tone. It seems that all of the tribes of Indians that they encountered, considered York to be heap big medicine, and brought their daughters to him to infuse his blood line into the tribe. As you can imagine, York must have had the time of his life on that trip.
