Yes the consumer is buying at the low end which means less profit for business. Which means business cannot afford the IT budgets that the IT manufacturing infrastructure is geared to.

Of course, servers will continue to sell. But people will be looking for a good price/performance ratio.

We are no longer in the environment where purchasers are throwing about VC money, shareholder money and tax revenues on pricey solutions to problems that can be solved more cheaply. This current environment is not one that Sun is well suited to in my opinion as the owner of a datacentre consultancy firm.
