Neither post was erroneous. There is a conditional preposition in front of the quote from the first post. As such, it is not a statement.

I was operating under a possibly flawed assumption that this "If consumers aren't buying then business isn't selling" would be interpreted as a concise way of saying this "Consumers aren't buying as much as has been expected/hoped for/bought in the past therefore businesses are not selling as much as has been expected/hoped for/bought in the past".

As to low down dirty undertakings, I don't play much of an operational role in my company these days as I am enjoying being a full time investor much more. I currently have no market positions having covered my last short (MSFT) earlier today. I have been on this thread since the peak of the tech bubble and have been predicting Sun's fall into single digits whilst having the pleasure of people on this thread arguing with me all the way down.

Now I think Sun is probably fairly valued regarding its present business situation but I have doubts on the long term viability of the company's offerings i.e. over priced underperforming expensive to run servers with inflexible configurations and a small pool of developers committed to provding compatible software.

If you want to see how I invest and what my results are like, visit this thread where I record my trades:

If you want to have a sensible discussion then great as there is always stuff to learn and adjustments/corrections to make in a pastime as dynamic as following the economy and markets. If you want to make snide comments and engage in grammatical cross examinations then I am not interested and won't bother replying to such.
