The comparison I had in mind was roughly $50/mo. vs. $15, but I haven't priced service carefully lately. $29.95 sounds like a pretty good price -- around here, I've seen "first three months for $29.95/mo." promotions, but I've never seen an ongoing rate that low.

Other thing is, for folks using the net frequently, if you factor in the cost of access and a second line, it can come very close to the $50 bucks Verizon charges here for DSL. Get DSL and get rid of the second line, and you are about even.
