The most encouraging aspect of the data to me was the VLSI prologue observation that the BackEnd continued to grow faster than the front end.

This implies that spare front end capacity is being consumed forcing the backend with its shorter leadtimes to add capacity. i.e. - a typical cyclical recovery.

The capacity utilization data in the table supports that conclusion.

However, it is still early days. Anything could happen.
