(NasdaqNM:RFMD - News) sold thousands of their shares in the wireless chip maker last month, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission made public on Friday. RF Micro on Friday cut its earnings and revenue forecasts for the current quarter and the news sent its shares down more than 30 percent to $10.42, below their previous 52-week low, in afternoon Nasdaq trade. According to the SEC filings: -- RF Micro Chairman William Pratt sold 36,000 shares at $17.15 each on May 10; -- Vice President Arthur Geiss exercised an option for 15,700 shares on May 1 at 81 cents each and sold the stock the same day for $17.05 a share; -- Barry Church, RF Micro's controller, sold 6,500 shares at $17.40 to $19.14 a share during the first half of May after acquiring them at $1.97 each through an exercise of options. Officials at the Greensboro, North Carolina-based company did not immediately return calls seeking comment on the sales. Earlier on Friday, RF Micro executives said in a conference call that a customer had pushed back order shipping dates largely because of the timing of new handset models to be introduced. RF Micro would not release details about the customer or the handset models in question.
