the lowest peak i have on the charts associated with a market bottom is from 120-125 for volatility of the VIX. in May 2000 and September 2001, the peaks reached 150. the worst highs for volatility(VIX) were 200 in October 1998. guess that's to be reflected in the standard deviation bands (or bollinger bands) for the OEX and the VIX. anyways, it's gettin there.
