PB, Well, the French are still ticked off about that coming in and beating up their knights under Edward III and Henry V. And burning Joan of Arc was kind of a rough patch, too, though most of the French of the day didn't much care for her. And it was a French court that convicted her of witchcraft and a Burgundian who captured her.

The Germans really got peeved when Richard The Lionhearted decided to give Sicily to Tancred, the illegitimate son of William The Bad. Thus disinheriting Frederick, the Holy Roman Emperor's wee son. But Frederick got it back, plus large parts of Italy, all of Germany and the Kingdom of Jerusalem, so I don't see what all the whining is about.

China has a real gripe. Hooking everyone on opium was a pretty nasty thing for the British to do. I think the British Empire did pretty darned well except for China and its terrorism in Ireland.

They didn't even do poorly with us, though we ain't even gonna pay any taxes if we think we can whup 'em. <g>
