We have large movies posters of Bambi and Fox and the Hound framed in our kids playroom. Bambi was my daughters favorite movie as a child. Here is a funny story about that movie. <blush>

Emily was about 3 years old, when she liked that movie. Of course, she wanted to know what happened to Bambi's Mom. I, of course, did not want to explain to her about hunting and what really happened to Bambi's mom. Her little heart would have been broken. So going with the parenting rule of, "not giving a child more information than they need to satisfy the curiosity at the time." I came up with the perfect answer for her, regarding what happened to Bambi's mom. I simply told her, that "Bambi's mom went home with a man." Now this answer did not seem odd to Emily, she accepted it and didn't ask any more questions. Embarrassingly that is not the end of the story though. Emily made it a point to tell nearly everyone she had come in contact with, "Bambi's mom went home with a Man!!" One can only imagine the looks that I got from the people who she told this information to. Here, I had been thinking I had come up with the perfect answer to Emily's question, never suspecting how significant that information was to her, that she would then need to tell everyone who would take a minute and listen to her. <smiling>
