OK so if you love to hate yourself, then that is what you would be obligated to give your fellow man- hate. It appears that many people love internet porn. Should those people then be sending porn to everyone?

Things are getting a bit thick, all the way around. It is partly Jewel's fault, but there is something perverse in not even trying to coax a better expression out of him, but arousing defensiveness from the start. This is what I understand him to be saying: we affect those around us, sometimes to an extent that we cannot gauge. Considering that, we are obliged to act in a manner that is likely to help society in the long run, to have our time in this world be more constructive than not. A prerequisite of this is to have a general attitude of goodwill and solicitude towards those with whom we come in contact, and to wish all beyond them well. This is because, objectively, they are us, that is, equally worthless or worthy, insofar as human similarities outweigh the inequalities of talent or position. Thus, if we value our own lives, we should value theirs, and, although there is a practical limitation of responsibility, one cannot foreclose all responsibility merely because the connection is not apparent. Jewel, if he is still around, can tell me if I have translated well.......
