Unfortunately, Ashcroft is in an extremely powerful position, as far as the ability to erode our rights. It's as if Jefferson took ill, and asked Elmur Fudd to finish the Declaration of Independance.

Logical next steps for Ashcroft's racial profiling:

1) Since, as a percentage, African-Americans are involved in more homicides than other racial groups, all African-Americans will be questioned by homicide detectives to see if they have information about unsolved murders.

2) Since, as a percentage, Caucasians are involved in more white collar crimes, the SEC will question all white people to see if they have information on stock trading scandals.

3) Since, as a percentage, Asian-Americans are poorer drivers, they will pulled over by state troopers and questioned on their driving ability.

4) Since, as a percentage, viewers of Fox News have lower IQs than the norm, they will be questioned for contributing to the declining test scores, albeit in short sentences with words no greater than six letters in length.

After all, safety is more important than rights, right, right?
