In the year 1975 I made less than a total of $500 for the year. It was one of the most pleasant years of my life. Partly because I did not have want of economic or material resources beyond the functions of my existence at the time. There have been other years where I made a substantial income and was quite unhappy that resources were stretched or unavailabe.
