Charles, I'd have to go back and read it <ggg>. I think you are allowed to at least load the older software on a desktop and laptop, but really, it's kind of like when you get your new Dell computer - how many folks send in the tax due to their respective state... With XP activation you now have to buy a copy of office for each machine, can get expensive very quickly if you have four or five computers around the house. Microsoft is kind of stuck here, I'm sure they would love to change the file formats and make them incompatible immediately, but cannot do so because of the huge installed base. I sure would never pay to upgrade multiple machines unless absolutely necessary - it really isn't worth it by any stretch in comparing Office XP with the prior version.
