We may be able to do with our spy satellites rather than with troops. Primitive countries like India think that "monitoring the border" means having a bunch of shivering, khakhi-clad, gruel-eating unfortunates hanging in there at the borders with the thought of death around every corner of their march. The US can do a whole lot with satellites and airpower, just as they won the Gulf war and the war in Afghanistan almost completely from the air.
