Children in my 4th grade class had seen 13 ghosts. In that movie people are sliced in half. At the point of the first slicing I left. At least one of the ghosts was an eroticized female ghost of some serial killing variety.

I think the issue of porn (and especially porn accessed in libraries) is a tiny and inconsequential issue.

The real issue ought to be (imo) the amount of violence people see- and most of that violence is in the movies, and it has gotten very very extreme. The depictions of torture and mutilation and murder in the movies are about as sick as you can get, and parents are letting their kids see this stuff. I am sure most parent don't let their kids see porn, they probably don't even let their kids have playboy, but they let them see this stuff which is far far worse. These movies are like "how to's" to become a sicko- while most porn is merely sexually explicit. Very little porn caters to the sado masachistic crowd.

I remember some friends in high school who had brothers with extensive porn collections. They used to bring the magazines and newspapers to parties, which as I recall used to make us hysterical with laughter. Being in the porn industry is not a good thing, but porn itself, pretty much a non-issue compared to the big issues confronting our children.

I got this on a customized search at the CDC website. These are the top 20 for kids age birth to 16. I suspect even for the top 100 you won't find any dangers that are porn related. I am personally repelled by the porn industry, but find that in terms of priorities fighting porn is way down there on my list. I think I would prefer to fight violence.

darn the link wouldn't work. You'll just have to go to the CDC website- and I put in for the top 20 causes of mortality.
