"reliable" cellular coverage

To me, that is the key. NO ONE has been able to do it yet nationwide. Until they do, I think all the fluff services that wireless companies are looking to as killer apps (data, sending picutres, etc...) will be moot as far as revenue to hardware makers and providers.

I agree with Jacobs that by 2010-ish landlines will be obsolete. But there is a long way to go between the somewhat extensive cell phone use we have now and a mass exodus to getting rid of land lines. Hmmm, tower companies could do well.

Hey, 25% of my landline phone bill is taxes. For example, this month, $6 on a $24 bill was taxes. This is ridiculous

You could easily join Koz from Tyco. He paid no taxes to NYS for his personal purchases and his company paid no tax to Uncle Sam or New Hampshire where headquarters are located.
