There are studies showing a link between violence and behaviors I do not want to see in children- i.e. aggressive antisocial behaviors. I know of no such studies about the effect of sexual images on children. They are so bombarded with sexual images from TV and the movies, I suspect that the effect porn might have on them would be minimal- but I have no data for that. If you can find some I would be happy to see it.

Otherwise I see this as a non issue about libraries- which is what we were talking about. Libraries and porn. The number of kids accessing porn at libraries is probably statistically insignificant, and the liklihood that they will be harmed also seems remote to me. There are 1000's of things more dangerous to children. I prefer to spend my time and energy focusing on those things.

As for porn elsewhere, which is mainly where it is (in the home, in the adult bookstore, in the XXX movie theatres), I support you on your crusade to wipe out porn. I don't like it and although I think you are tilting at windmills trying to do anything about it, I support your efforts. That just isn't the way I would choose to spend my time.
