nope: 4 x 0 Brazil v China

Italy v Mexico.

If Mexico comes out inspired as they did with Croatia, it will be a tremendous game. In reality their real chance is tonight against Ecuador, they must come out and absolutely plaster the South Americans by 4 or 5 goals. They are capable of doing it, it is a matter if they want to or not.

I say the above based on what I saw of Ecuador in the game against Italy, which was: nothing, but also primitive -gg

EDIT:

I wil not even attempt to defend the, ah, interesting calls in the Croatia-Italy game.

How could you, you (and the reffs were on that bottle of... Croatian Tequila ) -ggg

Costa Rica 1 x 1 Turkey

Japan 1 x 0 Russia

After half way in te CR - Turkey game I fell asleep... -g

I woke up and both games were over... so I can only say that the CR - Turkey game (what I saw) was very fast and hard fought. As I read the reports, it seems that CR could have scored more goals but did not and it seemed as a just result.

This puts the Ticos on a hard spot going against Brazil, who I doubt they can beat, but one never knows; the ticos MUST at least tie the cariocas to qualify, or else be at the mercy of what the Chinese can do to the Turks (probably nothing), in fact Turkey has the easiest task at hand but they MUST beat China by at least three goals (unless the ticos lose)

As for Japan beating Russia, it did not surprise me and at this point I think the Russians ought to pack and go home already as they have been a complete disappointment... still, they could beat the Belgians (although I do not think --nor hope so). Japan will face Tunisia, who they ought to beat. Very possible that Japan will come out the winner in this group with Belgium in second.
