You know him? I didn't know he hung around with carpetologists.<gg> See what he says if you do know him. In my opinion, shutting down the FASB proposal back in 1994 was a big mistake. In the intervening years, the loophole has been exploited to a point where now many of us are becoming very cynical about the companies we are investing in.

At the same time, it is hard to blame execs for taking advantage of this great loophole that landed in their laps. With no accounting for stock options, there is very little incentive for execs not to write them up in massive quantities.
