When I lived in town my neighborhood did the watch thing. Like a fool I got talked into being the block captain. Went to the meeting, learned all the material, bought an engraver but when I started calling the neighbors about checking their homes and giving them the tips it was always later. Finally I printed up fliers and stuck them in all the mailboxes. The only response was from the post office threatening to put me in jail for not having stamps on the fliers. All they were interested in was getting the signs.
