I believe it to be a mix of both. We have,IMO, earned the right to be a little ugly and arrogant. Our military has fought all over the world, both to protect others and ourselves. It would be silly to think that we would be in Afghanistan only to protect the native peoples there, but it sure is a good perk for them, is it not?
