dumbmoney, RE: Cable TV passes >95% of US homes. Of those about 70% can currently get high speed internet, and most of the rest will get it within a few years. DSL is also an option in many areas.

If all of those 70% wanted high speed internet, none of them would have it.

The cable industry's heavy reluctance to discuss or research the issue of speed degradation leads me to believe that the capacity problem is worse than we've been led to believe.
