I believe it is because the CBOE calculates its P/C ratios only on options traded on the CBOE and Thomson might be reporting the whole universe of equities options traded. The latter is probably a better indicator for EOD results, but I like the CBOE because I can correlate the intraday activities (for instance the CBOE can show you that the rally was in the process of petering off after 1:30 Friday, as the equity P/C ratio between 1:00 and 1:30 (ET, they report CT) dropped to a horrendous low of .25. Mosis was out in force buying calls, while put buyers were afraid to short the advance in process.
