Goal difference is first tie breaker, Italy only need to win, margin doesn't matter because any win puts them ahead of mexico. if italy only wins by one, croatia needs to win by two: larger italian margin and Croatia only need to win, irrespective of margin.

Brazil looks good but they did get lucky with Turkey and they just had a warm up against the Chinese...not challenged yet, when they are I won't be surprised if they go down in flames. But, if Italy, Argentina and France go home soon, who is left really? Anyway, parity is coming to World Football right before our eyes. It will be such an irony for Mexico not to advance! Costa Rica failed to take Turkey to the cleaners. I now can imagine their "staff" working the phones and paying visits to the Brazilian camp and say "my friends, let's go for the tie, let's rest our stars, lets not injure anybody and be merrry"<g> I missed the Japan game because I taped the wrong ESPN channel#$@*!. Hopefully the Canadian channel will come through later today.
