I'm the kinda guy that will empty a sugar packet into my mouth in a restaurant....it ain't cuz I am getting the sugar elsewhere. It is because donuts are supposed to have a dough component. It is the delicate balance of sweetness on a non-sweet cake or pastry that makes the donut special. Double dipping the donut overpowers the cake/pastry and therefore upsets that delicate balance. They should market those things as candy, not donuts.
