One thing my posts do reflect, and yours do not, is a working knowledge of the history of the region.

Wrong. Your posts are seething with neocon arrogance, with a racist undertone.

Still doesn't explain why Egypt and South Korea had the same per capita income in 1950

Do you think perhaps that Egypt's border with Israel had something to do with this? The numerous assaults on Egypt, the military buildup that resulted, the crushing of the nationalist leader Nasser specifically because he might have led Egypt on the same trajectory as South Korea - it all adds up.

Vietnam is still suffering the self-inflicted wound of Communism.

Ah, yes, the "self-inflicted wound" of American Agent Orange, napalm, land mines, and carpet bombing.

Indonesia and Phillipines are not that bad off either, if they could get rid of their Islamist crazies.

This is the same Indonesia whose standard of living and per capita income haven't budged since the takeover of the country by neo-colonialists in 1965?

Tom

What "history of the region" are you talking about? That is exactly what my point is. You are are very focused on a region. And I am happy to see it slip out at last from you directly. I am, on the other hand trying to view it more as a history of the world to include other areas of the world such as Africa and Asia, to include those who formed colonies beyond just the Arabs/Ottomans, whome you have professed to hate.

Why is that hatred so pronounced. I am afraid with that degree of hatred, you shut out any form of decent reasoning. Isn't that what we accuse Osama of, just pure blind faith in hate for America?
